Valentine’s inspired nails

My valentine”s day nails. The inspiration came from sparkling wine bubbles. I just wanted to do something other than normal pink or red nail art.

Nailpolish love

I’m so in love with L’Oreal’s nail polishes! I picked up Shocking Pink and Sky fits heaven yesterday and couldn’t resist wearing both shades.

Have you tried L’Oreal’s nail polishes yet? What do you think of them?

Flocking caviar!

Tonight was for testing out two recent nail trends after finding the perfect supplies at PNA. First up is the popular caviar nails. You can find containers of Pop! Micro beads in a range of colours which is perfect for this.

My first try was with the black Micro beads over Tip Top’s – Traffic Lights. It didn’t come out too badly. The beads stuck to the nail polish better than anticipated. It does get tougher to get it even around the tips but I found waiting a while so the polish thickens helps that you don’t easily dislodge them when pressing them in place.

The second trend I just had to try was flocking. You can get this in different colours but they currently only had the green available.

This is really easy to do. I painted a layer of Revlon’s – Super Nature and then dipped my nail into the pot of flocking. It adheres really well, and I could press it into the areas that need more coverage easily. After it dried I just brushed the access away with a soft bristle brush (a fluffy blender brush should work fine).

Great haloween nail polish

Besides being completely in love with my new Essence Multi Sparkling top coat, I realised today it created the perfect effect for haloween. See for yourself:

Black and orange while looking magical 0_o And yes it’s just one coat over plain black nail polish

I love this top-coat because it manages to turn any other colour it’s painted over into something special:

Here it is applied over Revlon – Plum attraction and Sally Hansen – Courtesan (pink)

And at only about R35 this is a cheap but very effective way to update all the other nail-polishes in your collection (not to mention it helps prevent chipping)
